Mega-Sequel 📚
All's well here at The Dispatch. The snails are starting a book group where they each read a different book and then make up a sequel that combines all of the plots together. It's a massive undertaking, especially considering the speed at which they read. We're rooting for them though and anything to reduce their screen time is always a plus.
Game Boy 👾
- Starting to think about making a custom cube for MTG
- Found this https://www.planesculptors.net/ site that has a lot of custom-made cards
- Apparently you can also do custom cards on https://cubecobra.com/
- Just learned you can use Discord as a CDN, which makes sense
- Thinking about making it based on Appalachian folklore
Coding Corner 👨🏻💻
- Used these three tools to make custom art for a MTG prototype:
- imaginAIry command line tool for generating stable diffusion images from text; used to make an image of an elf in the woods
- pixelicious.xyz used to turn the image into pixel art
- mtg.design used to put the art in a card
- https://typst.app/
- Coworker was getting really excited about this the other day
- Said he thought something like this could be one language to replace HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- research paper about it
- Had a thought after I asked the status of a coworker's task
- I should have said how close are we to being done with ticket XYZ instead of how close are you
- because tickets don't track the code, they track the idea of the feature / fix
- and many people are involved with the idea and can hold it up
- feels like a mistake in MTG that you take notice of and move on
