Death Metal Band 💀
All's well here at The Dispatch. The snails have formed a band called Trail of Death. We were worried they'd upset the neighbors with their playing, but the volume is actually very low compared to what we were anticipating from a death metal band. It's made us realize that we don't fully understand how they hear in the first place. At this point we're guessing it has something to do with feeling the vibrations in their bodies. But we're also speaking a lot more quietly now just in case we've been being way too loud for them this whole time.
Game Boy 👾
- More Loop Hero
- Although it's starting to get repetitive, go figure
- A lot of Magic: The Gathering
- Friends came into town for the weekend and we did a prerelease for the March of the Machine set at the local bar
- Was a lot of fun preparing for the set and talking about the strategies and just playing with new cards
- Got a couple good pulls and won two of the three games I played, which felt good
- My friends hadn't done limited format before, so it was also cool to see them get into it too
- We're trying to now start a semi-limited league with the broader friend group, getting the same number of booster packs each from different sets and then growing our collection over time and competing for prizes
- I'm also starting to look into actually designing a set of magic cards (and picking back up with the cube-builder project I haven't touched in a while)
- The guy who beat me at the prerelease was super good and knew a lot about who magic sets are made. He told me to look of the idea of a set skeleton, which I found an article about.
Coding Corner 👨🏻💻
- It's hard to code productively and also be buying a house
- Got to work on some actual coding problems
- Vs working on getting an environment set up or fixing bugs
- Love being able to actually have dedicated time to creating
